The final LASSI (Ladies Arizona Summer Survivor Invitational) tournament was held on Sept. 4, at the Los Caballeros Golf Club in Wickenburg.
The Los Caballeros Golf Club is very popular with golfers, and the field filled quickly to capacity for the tournament. Several PebbleCreek Ladies Golf Association (PCLGA) members joined in play. The teams were Sally Babbitt/Chanca Morrell, Geanie Aldridge/Judi Floyd, Kathi Curtis/Donna Havener, Tess Braden/Carol Taylor, Nancy Hernandez/Karen Myers, Vicki McLaughlin/Jean Ostroga, Cheryl LaMotta/Marilyn Leopold (Los Caballeros), and Sharon Dawe/Carol Langhardt.
Los Caballeros is a traditional championship course, complete with views of the Bradshaw Mountains and Vulture Peak. Donna Havener reported that the day was steamy. The course was pretty wet, so the players were allowed to lift, clean, and place. It was tough and play was slow, but the luncheon was really good, and the ladies enjoyed playing with friends and meeting fun ladies from around the Valley.
PCLGA winners in the 2-person best ball were: Flight A: Closest to the pin, Kathi Curtis; Flight B: Closest to the pin, Vicki McLaughlin; Flight B: Second Place, Jean Ostroga and Vicki McLaughlin; and Flight C: Second Place, Carol Langhardt and Sharon Dawe. Congratulations to all.
The LASSI season has been great, and all the ladies were sorry to see it come to an end. They are looking forward to the upcoming 2020 season.
