When running a tournament, it pays to be organized and have a Plan B, C and sometimes D. Fortunately, Co-Chairs Renee deLassus and Ellen Enright were the right people for the job when the PCLGA held its Member/Member Tournament on February 28 and March 1, 2017. Under the PebbleCreek Sun was the theme, but rain reduced the first day to cart path only for nine holes. Ninety-five two-person teams were scheduled to play and only a few teams chose not to weather the storm. It looked as though the skies were clearing but shortly after the first drives were struck, Mother Nature blessed the players with a few more showers, a cold wind and even a little sleet while the teams competed in a one net best ball for nine holes. Thankfully, the PebbleCreek sun made its appearance the second day and the two-person teams, playing with a different twosome, participated in a Scramble for nine holes and a modified Chapman for nine holes. All three Tuscany Falls courses were utilized.
A luncheon was held in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom following the second day of the tournament providing a baked potato bar, salad and cookies for the players. A brief meeting was held and votes were cast for the 2017-2018 PCLGA Officers. Next year’s officers are as follows: President Marilyn Reynolds, Vice President Chanca Morrell, Secretary Claudia Tiger and Treasurer Jenna Ridgeway. Congratulations to all! The new officers will be installed at the PCLGA Annual Meeting the latter part of March and will begin their term on June 1, 2017.
First place winners in six flights of each of the three games played, as well as the Overall first place winners in each flight, were announced and are as follows:
