PCLGA kickoff and other events

Bev Clinton

There are several exciting events on the schedule for PCLGA members for November and December of this year. In addition to the regular Tuesday play, which always involves a fun game to make the golf more interesting, there are several tournaments between now and the end of the year.

November 14 – Kickoff Tournament: Chairs are Sharon Dawe, Carol Langhardt and Chris Duprey. You won’t want to miss this great event! The annual Kickoff Tournament which starts our busiest time of year and celebrates both the return of the snowbirds and the end of overseeding will be held November 14. This year’s theme is Lett-uce Ketch-up, which sounds like there will be a good lunch in store after golf! If you haven’t already signed up, do so soon as the deadline is November 3.

November 29 – Robson Challenge: Chairs are Barb Patrow and Kathy Hubert-Wyss. Every year the PCLGA forms two 12-person teams, one for Eagle’s Nest and one for Tuscany Falls, and competes with teams from the other Robson communities in Arizona. The location moves each year from one Robson community to another. This year the tournament will be played on Wednesday, November 29 on the Ironwood Golf Course at Sun Lakes. After golf, there will be a dinner and the awarding of the trophy to the winning community. Good luck to both PebbleCreek teams.

December 5 and 6 – Red and Green Tournament: Chairs are Judy Newell and Joanne Pollock. What a great way to get into the swing of the holidays! Those who participate are assigned to either the red or the green team. The two teams play against each other in a match-play format and then celebrate with a luncheon. This is a charity event that benefits the New Life Center rather than giving out monetary prizes to tournament winners. So, not only will you have a good time, you will help make Christmas a little brighter for someone less fortunate. This tournament fills up quickly so sign up as soon as possible.

If you aren’t already a PCLGA member, consider joining us. You don’t want to miss all the fun we have with the game of golf.
