The PebbleCreek Ladies Golf Association (PCLGA) hosted another successful fundraising tournament and flooded the Tuscany golf courses with pink on Jan. 18. The field was full with ladies stepping up to fight cancer through their generous donations to the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR).
Co-chairs Debbie Sayre and Kathi Curtis, along with many of their helpers, collected 29 baskets that were donated by various PCLGA members and their golf groups. Pam Volm generously gives her time each year to provide for the pinwheel garden that is on display during the day of golf, where those touched by cancer are recognized with their name on a pinwheel.
Following the tournament, we gathered for lunch at the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom and recognized PCLGA members who are cancer survivors by giving them each a fresh pink carnation. The number of survivors continues to increase each year—witness that the fight for the cure is making positive strides. Congratulations to the ladies who celebrate life!
The final tally raised by selling raffle tickets, pinwheels, and donations was $6,499.
While we are all winners as we generously give, bragging rights go to these golf tournament shamble winners:
Flight 1: Ellen Enright, Kathy Hubert-Wyss, and Cindy Sota
Flight 2: Michelle Cattin, Sandy Nielson, and Peggy Steffan
Flight 3: Jeanne Corn, Tina Fisher, Sheila Hooks, and Renee Shellhorse
Flight 4: Sally Babbitt, Gayle Hubbard, and Ruth Shaffer
Flight 5: Chris Grunewald, Nancy Hernandez, Mary Petersen, and Sue White
Flight 6: Carol Adkins, Pamela Berg, Sari Hellsten, and Janell Jenson
The generosity of the PCLGA ladies is amazing!
