PC Musicians need a publicist

Are you getting bored with all of the wonderful activities here at PebbleCreek? Looking for something different and meeting different people? If so, the PebbleCreek Musicians is looking for someone to handle publicity. This would involve writing emails for the PebbleCreek egroup and articles for the PebbleCreek Post and other local publications. Most of this writing would take place in the months prior to our annual March/April performances. Publicity duties can be tailored to the ability of the applicant.

If you are interested, please email to Bruce Birnel at [email protected] and include any past writing or publicity experience as well as any special skills that you have that would be useful in this position.

PebbleCreek Performers at EMCC celebrations

Laurie Farquhar

Some of PebbleCreek’s most talented actors, singers and dancers joined the celebrations when the new Performing Arts Center at Estrella Mountain Community College officially opened in November. Dance Fusion, four ShowTime singers and the cast of PC Players Love, Loss and What I Wore presented a 20 minute show at the all-day event at EMCC’s Avondale campus.

The grand opening was the public’s first look inside the new 30,000 square foot building. In addition to a 297 seat theater, the PAC has a black box theater for smaller productions, a dance studio, a set construction shop, dressing rooms and other class rooms. The main theater also has state-of-the-art lighting and sound facilities.

While the new center will be used primarily by EMCC students, the college is also working to build partnerships with community groups including the performing arts clubs in PebbleCreek. PC Players will present the hilarious comedy Noises Off in the EMCC main theater in October 2016 while the Renaissance Theatre is undergoing renovations.

Roving Readers receives rave reviews; encores ahead!

A huge thank you to the women of PebbleCreek for their support of PebbleCreek Players’ readers’ theater group, The Roving Readers, during their premier performance in October of Love, Loss and What I Wore. The play, written by Nora and Delia Ephron for women and about women, is based on the book by Ilene Beckerman. Our audience could not have been more appreciative during the show and the many positive comments that followed made our production even more special.

Because seats for the October 29 performance were sold out almost immediately, we are presenting an encore — two more performances on January 21 and 22, 2016. We opened those dates when we saw the demand while selling for the October performance; it sold out in the first half hour! The additional shows will be presented in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom again and coffee/tea/dessert is promised then as well.

Although the January dates sold quickly too, there may be some openings closer to show time. So if you would like to see this fun-filled show, please check availability on the egroup during January.

Director Dorothy Danner and the entire cast are most appreciative of your support and your great reviews. Thanks so much!
