PC Live On Stage – February 2026

Open Mic Night Invites You to Join Us!

Carrie Mataraza

Fans of PebbleCreek’s new, popular club, Open Mic Night, will be happy to know that beginning this new year, performances have been scheduled in the Eagles Nest ballroom. The ballroom’s larger capacity will allow for a bigger audience and will utilize the stage so everyone will be able to see and hear the performers at the mic much better than previously.

Ticket sales are the same days as the performances in the Eagle’s Nest lobby in front of the ballroom beginning at 5:30 p.m. The show starts at 6 p.m. Cost is only $5 per person for open seating and two hours of entertainment: music, song, comedy, and even magic by a variety of talented Creekers. You can pick up a beverage at the bar and bring food from the Restaurant ahead of time to enjoy during the shows.

Please Note: Open Mic Club welcomes everyone, both individuals and groups, who may feel inspired to perform with us. In fact, our mission statement “is to encourage and invite all residents of PebbleCreek to share their talent in an open mic environment”—read: in front of supportive audiences in a happy, upbeat setting.

Open Mic nights always have a great lineup of performers who get the mic for 10 minutes each to do their thing. There is so much talent here in PebbleCreek that we hope you will join us behind the mic as a performer or in front as our audience. We are continuing to see new talent sign up. If you’d like the details for performing with Open Mic Club, please contact Kathy Mitchell, Open Mic Club president, at kgmsinger@gmail.com. And check out our website: sites.google.com/view/pebblecreekopenmic/home.

So mark your calendars for Thursday evening, Feb. 19, and watch the egroup, PebbleNews, and our website to see future Open Mic dates. Bring your friends and family along, too. We’ll see you in the ballroom!

ShowTime Hall of Fame Honorees

Laurie Farquhar

ShowTime members honored two of their long-time colleagues at the club’s annual holiday party in December.

Lynne Carlyle and Frank Morgan were added to the Hall of Fame honorees, as a thank you for all that they have contributed to the club.

Lynne has been a ShowTime member for more than 15 years. Most people recognize her as a dancer with Dance Fusion but she also served two terms as Treasurer on the ShowTime Board. In addition, she has designed and put together almost all of the outfits worn by Dance Fusion over the past decade; outfitted the entire cast of several musicals; and created some incredible props to go with these costumes.

Frank Morgan joined ShowTime more than 10 years ago. He is well known for his smooth vocals (Frank Sinatra anyone?) and elegant presence on stage. In addition, Frank served three years on the ShowTime Board as Vice President, President, and Past President. His talents as a photographer have also shone through as he photographed several productions for the club members.

The ShowTime Hall of Fame award was started in 2014 to recognize outstanding contributions that select members have made to the club as leaders, performers, musicians and/or technicians. These honorees have been active in ShowTime for at least five years, participated in a minimum of three shows, as well as have worked in other capacities such as director, assistant director, performer, tech, backstage, and ticket sales. A plaque with the names of all of the honorees can be found in the backstage area of the Renaissance Theater.

Coming This Spring: “The American Songbook”

Laurie Farquhar

What is The American Songbook? Is it an actual book of music? Or is it a collection of songs from many years ago? In this case, it is an original musical revue written and directed by longtime ShowTime Director, Chanca Morrell. It features songs that have received some kind of award and/or recognition by the music industry such as the Grammys, Tonys, Oscars, CMAs, and more. What makes this so exciting is that this covers a wide range of music styles from Broadway to country to rock ‘n roll. And you will hear and see them performed in one very exciting presentation by ShowTime.

With so many award-winning numbers to choose from, how do you go about deciding which ones to include in the production? Chanca says that she had some of her favorites in mind but then, many of the performers who are in the show brought great suggestions for songs that reflect their own style and talents. As a result, the 50+ singers, dancers and comedians in this revue had a hand in the final selection which means they will be performing songs and medleys that will make them shine on stage.

The American Songbook will run April 13 through 18 with all performances in the Renaissance Theater starting at 7 p.m. Tickets will go on sale online, Saturday, March 14 at 8 a.m. and will be only $20, which includes all service fees. More information about ticket sales will be available in a few weeks.

Chanca doesn’t want to give away much about the show at this point, but she promises that the audiences will find that each song reflects something special. They have all been recognized as the best of the best so they will be great and familiar and for some, they may mean a trip down memory lane. From the opening number to the final curtain, Chanca promises PebbleCreek audiences will be wowed by the music and the talent. It sounds like an evening you don’t want to miss!
