Young West Valley musicians to benefit from Burst of Music XI

Not only did our incredibly talented, distinguished PebbleCreek Musicians deliver three amazing sold out shows this spring, they raised a whopping $2000 to help further the musical endeavors of many deserving West Valley students!
“Now, more than ever, economic conditions have put arts education in jeopardy all across our state and right here in the West Valley,” noted PC Musicians president, Larry Tallant. “Many surveys have supported the fact that involvement in the arts increases a child’s abilities in their academic areas of study. Today, as far as the arts are concerned, they need all the help and encouragement they can get and we’re delighted to be able to do what we can to help develop more musicians.”
The PC Musicians are making a $500 donation to the West Valley Youth Orchestra, which is composed of the finest musicians from the public, private and charter schools in the West Valley. Founded in 1997, the orchestra has performed all over the state. Their program features a variety of music, from classical to popular.
Millennium High School will receive a $500 donation for their choir and another $1000 donation for their band—an award-winning Division 1 high school band that has consistently taken top honors in the marching and concert events in which they participate.
For the past 11 years, “Burst of Music” concerts have been hosted by the one and only Jerry Layne (renowned professional emcee and ventriloquist) and feature performances from The PebbleCreek Big Band under the direction of Bruce Birnel, along with other PebbleCreek musical and vocal groups.
