September and October club events were a great way to kick off the 2014/2015 club year.
Nine new members joined our club at the September meeting and another couple of new members in October. Tickets for this year’s Poinsettia Ball went on sale to club members at the September meeting and were sold out! The Poinsettia Ball, sponsored by the Italian American Club, thanks President Rose Ann Cleland and Co-Chair Kathy Veleta and their entire committee for planning another spectacular event.
September club events: following the September meeting, over 50 club members enjoyed the inaugural Andiamo (Let’s Go) at the home of Bob and Rose Ann Cleland. Plenty of desserts, wine, beer, soda and coffee were served with a chance to meet and mingle! “Eccellente/Excellent”! Club members also enjoyed their September Dining Out at Rudy’s BBQ. A great turnout of 35 plus club members shared great barbeque and conversation.
October club events: Following the October meeting, the Andiamo was a spook-tac-ular event at the home of Bob and Rose Ann Cleland. Festive Halloween decorations and plenty of desserts and beverages were enjoyed by a great turnout of club members. Club members celebrated Ottobre e’ Italiana Heritage Month (October is Italian Heritage Month). This brought club members together to share highlights of their Italian heritage at a Lunch Party on Sunday, October 26 at Sunrise Park.
November events: In addition to the regular club meeting and social time, the November Dining Out is scheduled for Wednesday, November 5 at 1:00 p.m. in the remodeled Eagle’s Nest Dining Room. Bob and Jacqueline Voccola are chairing this event. Also on the November calendar is a Bingo and Dinner night on Thursday, November 13 at the Community Bingo Arizona facility. Club members and guests can enjoy dinner and bingo or bingo alone. Charlie and Alice Miller are chairing this event.
All PebbleCreekers (i.e. All FBIs (Full Blooded Italians), IBMs (Italian by Marriage) and WEICs (Wanna Enjoy Italian Culture/Customs) are welcome to join us for another terrific year enjoying our own Little Italy. Our next meeting is Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. (social time). The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. followed by an Andiamo event.
