PC Hiking Club Diary

Lynn Warren

Daisy Mountain is one of two rounded mountains almost directly east of the Anthem Outlet Mall. Although the mountains don’t look particularly intimidating from I-17, the climb to the top is steeper and more strenuous than it appears. On January 5, six “B” hikers climbed the east peak and paused for a photo under the flag faithfully maintained by a couple from Texas. The hikers then continued and climbed the adjacent, slightly higher Daisy Mountain and enjoyed a lunch break with 360-degree scenic views before heading down the steep trail on the west side to complete this seven-mile lollipop hike. The hiking club enjoys interesting hikes all around the valley as well as a few overnight adventures during the season; visit the club website at pchikers.org for more information and photos.
