On January 9, seven PebbleCreek B hikers braved the automobile and hiker traffic to summit Piestewa Peak, a must-do hike for most Phoenix hikers. The initial part of the hike was the Circumference Trail where you have great views of the Phoenix area and hardly see another hiker, followed by the short, steep climb to the peak where the foot traffic is like Grand Central Station because of the popularity of Piestewa; the reward, however, is the impressive 360 degree view from the top. The club hikes five days a week and meets on the third Thursday of the month and has hikes for most levels of fitness; visit the club website at pchikers.org for more information and photos.
