On Tuesday, September 30, 2014, Bob Parks, member and handgun instructor for the PebbleCreek Gun Club, gave a very informative presentation on Islam and Terrorism in the Chianti Room at Tuscany Falls Clubhouse with over 100 people attending. Bob has an extensive background and experience in over 109 countries (his resume is around 17 pages); however, he did provide a very short biography in his own words:

“Moved to PebbleCreek three years ago from the Pacific Northwest.

Spent five years as a Sheriff’s Deputy in Oregon.

Was a DEA Special Agent for 23 years. Served at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center for three years and spent four years on the faculty of the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Spent three years in Thailand and three and a half years in Karachi, Pakistan, as the Narcotics Attaché for the Middle East. Was the Agent in Charge on the Canadian Border in western Washington State and retired from DEA headquarters, Special Operations Division, Special Projects.

After retirement, worked for 10 years in the intelligence community on counter terrorism programs. While with the CIA, did three tours in Iraq during the war and countless tours in other Middle Eastern countries and all over Africa.

Wife put her foot down and made me retire.”

This presentation was so popular, the PebbleCreek Gun Club will sponsor an encore presentation for interested PebbleCreek residents on Monday, November 24, 2014, from 1:00 to 3:00p.m. in the ballroom at Tuscany Falls Clubhouse.

The PebbleCreek Gun Club Fall BBQ will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014, from noon to 4:00 p.m. at Sunset Park in Eagle’s Nest.

At our Spring BBQ in April, we had over 110 members and their guests gathered together for some of the most delicious BBQ chicken, beef brisket and pulled pork provided by Eric Strand and Company. Everybody raved about the quality of the food; the apple and cherry cobbler pie cooked in old fashioned Dutch ovens were wonderful.

To attend ($17 per person), members of the PebbleCreek Gun Club should send their checks for themselves and their guests to: Ms. Kathy Fredo, Treasurer, 16362 W. Virginia Avenue, Goodyear, Arizona 85395.
