November Road Trip
Members journeyed to the Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gun Show by car and plane to check out 4,600 tables in a building covering 11 acres. Afterwards we drove to San Antonio with a visit to the Alamo and then 90 miles east to the Texas Hog Ranch to hunt wild hogs. The group of seven members shot seven hogs; three hogs were donated to the PebbleCreek Gun Club BBQ held at Sunrise Par in Eagle’s Nest on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Special thanks go to Bill Wagner for safely driving his big Navigator and hauling a 12 foot trailer with all the guns, gear and coolers for the meat for over 3,000 miles.
PebbleCreek Gun Club BBQ
Our club BBQ was attended and enjoyed by over 130 people. The 300 plus pounds of wild hog meat donated by Bill Wagner and Henry Tom was quite tasty as were the chicken, beef brisket and side dishes including corn hominy, apple, peach and cherry cobbler pies done in Dutch ovens served with whipped cream and ice cream and washed down with water, ice tea, lemonade and Heineken beer provided by Richard Cameron and the club. The door prizes consisted of 22 LR ammo and PebbleCreek Gun Club key chains. Richard Cameron was the lucky winner of the raffle for the Bushmaster AR 15 rifle.
A very special thank you to Bill Campbell for being able to find 70 pins for free that we can use in our ever growing and popular bowling pin shooting. They sell these bowling pins at the gun show for $6 each.
