The ACBL (American Contract Bridge League) offers clubs throughout the United States to have a special bridge game to help support Alzheimer’s. The event is called The Longest Day, held on June 20. Thousands of clubs and organizations across the United States create their own experiences as they raise funds and participate in an activity they love; almost everyone has been touched by this disease and our club wanted to help this cause. Our club collected over 400 unwanted treasures from our homes, books, jewelry, games, home décor, etc. We bought raffle tickets and when a player’s number was drawn they chose an item to take home; generous donations from the Activities Center provided additional prizes. Our final event was held on The Longest Day, June 20, with a bridge tournament, more raffle prizes and homemade treats. Our PebbleCreek Duplicate Bridge Club raised $2000 this year; a big thank you to all the members for supporting this cause to help combat this terrible disease. A special thanks to Marlene Wickizer, Mary Lou Cralle, JoAnn Enyeart, Judy Bosch, Sue Woodward and Judy Brown for their decorations, snacks, favors and hard work for making this event a big success.

During the summer months we are offering all levels of bridge players to play on Monday and Tuesday. On Saturdays there is a novice game with players having less than 300 master points.
