PC Dems experience a “Blast to the Past” event

Members of the PebbleCreek Dem Club celebrate the music, clothes and fun of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.

There were several sightings of possible celebrities by the 110 or so thought people walking into the Tuscany Falls Ballroom on April 6. Some thought they saw John Travolta or the Fonz or Twiggy, and, oddly enough, some even swore Sonny Bono was there, complete with his signature moustache. Those were just some of the members of the PebbleCreek Democratic Club and their friends arriving for their Blast to the Past, ’50s, ’60s and ’70s Party. Some party-goers had such great costumes, they left the rest guessing who the person was!

Master of Ceremony Chuck Veltri took us down memory lane to a more nostalgic, simpler time. The party was a huge success – we released our inner kids and danced the night away to music provided by Hank Tokarz, a PebbleCreek resident who has been deejaying for 30 years.

The food was spectacular and the only thing better than both the repast and the music was the comradery of friends old and new. The tables were beautifully decorated through the creative talents of Frankie Veltri with centerpieces made from 45 rpm records and other appropriate memorabilia. The beautiful table runners were made by Patti McEnerney and framed pictures by Judy Hart. Every table had a book that listed the top 100 songs of each of the decades being celebrated. Participants used the books to request songs and to test their trivia skills.

The Democratic Club always welcomes new members. If you are interested in joining, please contact Shari Baer, [email protected]. You can also visit our website at www.pcdemclub.org. The new member form is located on the lower right side of the home screen.
