PebbleCreek Democrats attend the Thanksgiving in July feast.

For the second year, the PebbleCreek Democratic Club filled the Palm Room for the Thanksgiving in July buffet dinner. Almost 40 members and guests escaped the summer heat to enjoy good food and fellowship. They were reminded of the cooler weather to come with the fall-inspired decorations on each table graciously provided by Frankie Veltri and straw pumpkins on the sideboards provided by Phyllis Minsuk. As expected, the group dined on a delicious turkey and ham dinner with five salads and all the trimmings, including sweet potatoes with marshmallows, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce, corn pudding, stuffing and warm rolls, and butter. Several dessert options were offered including pumpkin pie.
One member, who brought seven friends, asked if she could reserve the same table for next year’s dinner. That would make three years in a row and speaks to the talents of Chef Mary and the success of the dinner. The club’s Social Committee has many events planned for the coming months.
