Paula Dawn Bartocci
Our dear friend and neighbor, Paula Dawn Bartocci, passed away on August 16, 2014. Although she never smoked, she fought a valiant battle with lung cancer and was taken from us far too soon.
Born August 20, 1941 to Paul and Doris Morris, Paula was raised in Schenectady, New York, where she attended Draper High School and had represented her school as a majorette. Shortly after graduation she met her future husband when she went to work at General Electric as his secretary.
On June 30, 1962, Paula married Robert (Bob) Bartocci and over the course of their 52 loving years together they moved from New York to Boston, to Albuquerque and on to Portland, Oregon.
A loving mother, Paula was very actively involved with their children. It wasn’t until Albuquerque, 1980, that she started a career in real estate. From New Mexico to Portland and on to Arizona she continued in a career she loved. Ever the charismatic personality, she made friends easily and her friendships were genuine, loving and fun!
Whether in PebbleCreek, traveling in the U.S. or in faraway places, you could always expect the unexpected when Paula was around. With her beautiful voice, she was a regular and a favorite at Karaoke, she participated in Kare Bears Christmas programs and she could also break out in song in some most unlikely places. Her favorite, however, was singing with a large chorus. Christmas Eve at New Hope Community Church in Clackamas, Oregon, was top of her list.
The list of Paula’s activities was long and varied, her talents innumerable. As members of the Ballroom Dance Club, she and Bob were smooth as silk on the dance floor. As a golfer Paula was a beloved member of Sassy Swingers and she immensely enjoyed her girlfriends and their excursions together. She and Bob also golfed regularly with friends and neighbors. As an avid card player, Paula played numerous games but Thursday Bridge was not to be missed and the group could always count on her to make them laugh!
Parties at the Bartocci’s home were always full of fun, friends, good food, a lot of laughter and often singing. She was a vivacious woman, mother and wife. She is survived by her devoted husband, Bob, her four children Doug (Renee) Bartocci of Vancouver, Washington, Bonnie Bartocci of Lake Oswego, Oregon, Steve (Nicole) Bartocci of Kirkland, Washington and Ken (Jennifer) Bartocci of Saint Helens, Oregon, and five grandchildren, Aiden, Joe, Robby, Sarah, and Merrin.
Paula truly brought joy to those around her. She was classy, but sassy, caring but daring, adventurous and possessed a deep love for God, family and friends! She was a star on the stage of life!
Please join Paula’s family for the Celebration of Her Life in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom on October 18 at 2:30 p.m.

John Richard Pearson
John Richard Pearson was born November 7, 1948 and passed away September 3, 2014.
John was a Canadian PebbleCreek snowbird resident since 2008. He had a 40 year aviation career with over 20,000 flying hours in Canada and around the world. His first 20 years were in the Canadian Air Force and the rest of his commercial aviation was with Canada 3000, Sky Service and Air Canada Jazz. While in the Air Force John flew dignitaries such as former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. John retired in 2012 and loved spending his winters in PebbleCreek. He took up wood working, pottery, and tried to enjoy golf. You would often see John rollerblading around PebbleCreek, at the gym or swimming laps in the outdoor pool. He died tragically on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, doing what he loved, flying his beautiful red Sky bolt aerobatic bi-plane which he spent years building himself. He leaves behind his wife Anne, son Tyler, brothers-in-law Jim Pollock and Joanne and Bill Pollock, all PebbleCreek snowbirds and his brother and sister and her family in Ontario, Canada.
