Participate in the PASS Students Tennis Program on December 13

Barbara Camozzi, Communications Director

We will be hosting PASS students for tennis and lunch/early dinner at the PebbleCreek Tennis Club on Dec. 13. If you would like to help out, sign up now and mark your calendar. Play usually starts at 1 p.m. followed by lunch/early dinner at 3:30 p.m. (this timeframe is based on when the kids are available). We need members to play with these students, help us host the meal in the sports building, and have personal conversations about life and careers to inspire them. If you prefer to donate or spend time with the kids but not play tennis, let us know. All help is welcome!

You can also help with donations. PASS accepts donations in the form of checks as well as gently used tennis equipment, clothing, and shoes. So, save up those items that you would like to donate and please hold on to them until our November social when we will have a PASS representative attend to collect our donations.

PASS stands for Programs for After School Success and serves underprivileged high school tennis students who come out and play tennis with club members like us.

The PASS program’s mission is to enrich the lives of students in low-socioeconomic neighborhoods by encouraging personal responsibility, a healthy lifestyle, and a growth mindset through the game of tennis.

Studies show that students who participate in PASS have better grades, study habits, and school-based behavior. Research also shows that 8 of 10 students who play tennis into adulthood will have a college degree.

Registration is now open and we are hoping to get at least 15 more participants. Contact us for more information at info@pctennis.club. In the meantime, you can find out more about PASS at passkids.org.
