Euchre

Mary Ann O’Brien

Happy to report that though the snowbirds have left, and the heat index has risen, the Euchre players still here in PebbleCreek are attending faithfully.

We have two new players who moved down from Flagstaff because they heard the Euchre games are hot here (only kidding!). We welcomed Teresa and Bob Funkhouser to the tables, and though Bob won the low score prize on his first night, he was a very good sport.

It was nice to see Pam Schwalm who is a guest of Mary Ann O’Brien’s, and who hails from the same home town as George and Barb Clark and Mary Ann.

George and Barb celebrated their 50th Anniversary recently, so congratulations are in order.

Winners for the month of May were: 1st Dennis Hanely scoring a high 73, Jerry Fox, Bob Ferro, Bill Todd, all with 62 points, Sandy Blackburn, Bob Ferro and Barb Clark 61. George Clark 60.

2nd place winners: Jim Hundt and Larry Blackburn 58, Muriel Milewski and Mary Ann O’Brien 57, Monika Charlesworth and Tom Reynolds 56 and Jim Hundt 55.

Lots of Lone Hands: Sandy Blackburn, Rosemary Rulka, Carol Hanely, Barb Clark all had 4, Ron Glynn scored 3 and Len Liebowitz, Bill Halte, Sandy Blackburn, Larry Blackburn and Bob Ferro all managed to have 2.

Somebody has to lose but enjoying a night out with fellow Euchre players makes losing incidental. Win a few, lose a few. This month’s low scores were: Bill Callahan 38, Bob Funkhouser 34, Ron Glynn 31, Marilyn Luke 33 and Mary Ann O’Brien 29.

If you enjoy Euchre and want to meet new friends, join us on Thursday evenings at 6:30.

Bring a dollar for prize money, play a few practice rounds and start play at 7:00 p.m. sharp!

We play at Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse in the Palm Room. Bring a smile and a good attitude and you’ll have a good time.

Pinochle

Skip Holmes
