As the 2024 Political Season ramps up, the PebbleCreek Republican Club is honored to confirm the appearance of U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Lesko at its Oct. 3 meeting. Debbie is coming back to Arizona after three terms as representative of the 8th Congressional District to run for the open position on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors from our district. These Supervisors determine taxes to be levied as well as oversee the delivery of municipal services including roads, parks, libraries, and law enforcement.
Debbie began her state career in both the Arizona House and Senate for which she was later Senate President Pro-Tempore and Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. She was honored during her Arizona tenure as “Champion of the Taxpayer,” “Guardian of Small Business,” and “Senator of the Year” by numerous organizations. When she went to Washington, she served on Energy, Climate, and Grid Security committees, Republican Steering Committee, and was a member of the House Whip Team. Lesko founded the Protect Kids Caucus. The co-chair of the Women in STEM, the Congressional Western Caucus, and the Values Action Team, Debbie also serves on the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Also slated for that night is Darla Gonzalez, the Grass Roots Director of the Arizona Free Enterprise Club. This unique club is not afraid to stand up to powerful politicians and Special Interest Groups who want to keep the status quo. The club feels they have a unified voice to promote economic freedom and prosperity. Their goals are:
* To reduce income and property tax in Arizona
* Oppose all subsidies and special interest carve-outs in our tax code
* Support regulatory reform and eliminate burdensome regulations
* Promote fiscal discipline, limited government and a balanced budget
* Support consumer choice and freedom in our education and health care systems
* Reduce the influence of public sector unions in the political process and support employee rights
