Nurses group of PebbleCreek offers blood pressure checks

Dee-Dee Patrick

Volunteers from the Nurses Group here at PebbleCreek continue to offer free blood pressure readings to residents of our community. Members of the club who are certified volunteers through Banner HealthCare are available for a two hour block of time each Thursday afternoon on a first come, first served basis. Results of the reading are written down on a convenient wallet size card for future comparison or to be shared with your primary care provider. All this is done in a confidential manner.

During the year 2016, over 750 visits were made to the clinic. An additional 90 residents were screened during the Kare Bear Health and Wellness Fair in February last year. We would like to see those numbers increase this year and are available during the following times:

November through May – Every Thursday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

June through October – The last Thursday of each month from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

The clinic is held in Room 100 across from the Activities Center Office in Eagle’s Nest.

If you are a nurse (RN or LPN), retired or active, come join us at one of our breakfast meetings. It is an opportunity to socialize, network and listen to an informative presentation. The topics in the past have ranged from home health care and community resources, dermatological conditions and specific diagnostic categories. No membership fees; just good networking and camaraderie. Meetings are typically held on the third Wednesday of the month at 9:00 a.m. Call me, Dee-Dee Patrick, at 708-494-0008 or email me at [email protected] for more information.
