The Nurses’ Group of PebbleCreek is comprised of a group of active and retired professional nurses who gather once a month. Our purpose is to provide community service, share updated health/medical information, and offer an opportunity to socialize with colleagues.
Our meetings are held in the Palm Room of Eagle’s Nest every third Wednesday of the month from November through April. During summer months (May through October) the meetings are social, and the location may vary. The meetings begin at 9 a.m. and last approximately 1 to 2 hours, often with a presentation. There are no dues.
We invite all professional nurses, whether practicing or retired, to join our congenial group for lively discussions. Routinely we invite professionals in their area of expertise to discuss topics relevant to current health/medical or psycho-social issues. These discussions provide wonderful unofficial continuing education for all of us, and for the community when we have a guest speaker.
Our community service is to provide the residents of PebbleCreek a free Blood Pressure Clinic every week November through May on Thursdays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Activity Center, Room 100. In June through October we provide this service the last Thursday of each month. This is an opportunity for our residents to learn more about hypertension and the effect it has on their overall condition, and empower them to take charge of their health.
Members must be certified as official Banner Estrella Medical Center Volunteers and have a permanent address within PebbleCreek to volunteer in the BP Clinic.
