On a beautiful fall Arizona day, members of the Shalom Club met at the Creative Arts Center for a Road Rally, which we soon learned is similar to the Amazing Race. We got into our cars in teams of four and after detailed instructions from President Marsha Langfuss, we were ready for an adventure. We were told we had 50 minutes to get to our mystery destination, and had to follow many clues to get there.

Along the way there were many questions to answer, which we would see on our travels. For example: “What would you lose if the back of your hospital gown opened in the back?” Answer: Dignity Health. “Turn right on a street named after a loud avion.” Answer: Thunderbird.

With the expertise of all our drivers, we all ended up at the Martin Auto Museum in Glendale for our pre-ordered lunch. Prizes were awarded to the winners, and all participants received a gift bag of goodies. After lunch we were able to tour this amazing museum that houses hundreds of vintage cars. Countless hours went into the planning of this very fun but complex event.

Many thanks go to: Mark and Wendy Frumkin, Eileen Barranco, Esther Schatz, Martha Bergman, and Marsha Langfuss.

Many more activities are planned for the rest of the year. Please call Barb Peskin for membership information at 623-242-7955.
