Bingo was the name of the game at the Sunday, March 15, 2020, meeting of the PC Shalom Club.

This month, the Shalom Club will hold its annual Passover Seder on Friday, April 10, in the Tuscany Falls Chianti Room at 5:45 p.m. Dinner will include a garden salad, matzo ball soup, choice of orange and cranberry-glazed salmon, bourbon-glazed beef brisket, or roasted vegetable-stuffed portobello mushroom (vegetarian). Family and guests of members are welcome. Cost for the event is $35 for members, $45 for non-members, and $18 for children ages 13 and under. Please register on the Shalom Club website, www.pcshalomclub.org. RSVPs and monies must be received by Jerry Hausner no later than April 6. At the Sunday, April 19 meeting, Shalom Club members Indy Rebhun and Jeff Specter will give a multimedia presentation on their experience at the 25th anniversary International March of the Living in Poland and Israel. Indy and Jeff joined 10,000 people from all over the world, touring concentration camps, hearing first-hand accounts of survivors, as well as attending a ceremony at Auschwitz that included survivors and liberators. Their presentation coincides with Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day),

which is April 20. The meeting will be held in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom at 6 p.m.

The Shalom Club is looking forward to the very first Kentucky Derby event on the evening of Saturday, May 9, which will include mint juleps and a hat-making contest. Dinner will be served.

The annual Mother’s/Father’s Day Brunch will be held on Sunday, May 17, at Eagle’s Nest in the Palm Room, 9:30 a.m. The price is only $19 per person, which includes tax and tip. All monies are due by Tuesday, May 12. Guests are welcome. There will be a sign-up on the website. In the interim, please contact Judy Ruck directly to add your friends and family to the event.

The selection for March’s book discussion group was Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. The selection for the Tuesday, April 21, 10:30 a.m. book discussion will be The Hamilton Affair by Elizabeth Cobbs. Ruth Walsh will host. Think of it as a terrific companion to all things Hamilton. Alice Neuwirth will be hosting the May selection, The Other Half of My Soul by Bahia Abrams, on Tuesday, May 19, 10:30 a.m.
