Agie Olmedo, Executive Director
As the Executive Director of Robson Reserve at PebbleCreek, I hope you are enjoying the warmer months and all the activities that summer brings. With the season in full swing, I want to take a moment to share some important safety reminders and to invite you to our Annual Shred Event, designed to help protect your personal information and reduce the risk of identity theft.
Stay Hydrated and Cool: Summer temperatures can be particularly challenging for older adults. Remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated. Wear lightweight, breathable clothing and a hat when outdoors, and seek shade or air-conditioned environments to avoid overheating.
Protect Your Skin: The sun’s rays are strongest during the summer months, so be sure to apply sunscreen with at least SPF 30 before going outside. Reapply every two hours, or more often if you’re swimming or sweating. Sunglasses with UV protection and a wide-brimmed hat can also help protect your skin and eyes from harmful UV rays.
Be Aware of Heat-Related Illnesses: Older adults are more susceptible to heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Know the signs, which include dizziness, nausea, headache, and rapid pulse. If you experience these symptoms, move to a cooler place, drink water, and seek medical attention if necessary.
Stay Active, Safely: While it’s important to stay active, avoid strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day. Morning and evening are typically cooler and more suitable times for outdoor exercise. Whether it’s a gentle walk or light gardening, staying active can be beneficial as long as you do so safely.
Annual Shred Event
We are pleased to announce our complimentary Annual Shred Event on Saturday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to noon. This event is an excellent opportunity for you to securely dispose of important documents that are no longer needed. Shredding personal documents helps reduce the risk of identity theft, which remains a significant concern for many.
Why Shred?
* Protect Your Identity: Safely destroying documents that contain sensitive information prevents identity thieves from accessing your personal details.
* Clear Clutter: Free up space in your home by getting rid of unnecessary paperwork.
* Environmental Responsibility: Shredding paper supports recycling efforts and helps protect the environment.
How to Participate
1. Gather documents: Collect any old bank statements, medical records, or other documents with personal information.
2. RSVP: Please RSVP to the event to ensure we have enough resources to accommodate everyone. You can RSVP by contacting our office at 623–286–2872 or signing up at our community with the concierge.
3. Attend the event: Bring your documents to the shredding station on Saturday, July 27 between 9 a.m. and noon. Our team will assist you in safely disposing of them. Each vehicle will be allowed one small to medium size box.
At Robson Reserve, we are committed to your well-being and security. I encourage you to take advantage of this complimentary service and to stay vigilant about protecting your personal information.
Thank you for being a valued member of our community. We look forward to seeing you at the shred event and hope you have a safe and enjoyable summer.
