Effective Monday, July 1, the City of Goodyear will have a new trash disposal company collecting our weekly trash and monthly bulk pickup. The change in service providers means a change in the weekly pick up schedule for Eagle’s Nest residents who will now be serviced on Tuesdays – the same day as Tuscany Falls homeowners.
According to City of Goodyear Sanitation Superintendent, Adam Kurtz, the city’s contract with Waste Management expired this year and was up for renewal. In looking at all their options, the city determined Right Away Disposal (RAD) was the best fit for the city and awarded them the seven-year contract.
“I think the new trash service company is a bonus for PebbleCreek residents,” says HOA Board member, Bob Parks. “In addition to having trucks on property just one day a week now (Tuesdays), Right Away Disposal observes only four holidays throughout the year which will make things so much easier. For some of us, figuring out the holiday trash service schedule is always a challenge!”
Right Away Disposal observes four holidays throughout the year and will not be providing collection service on Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.
If your service day falls on one of the above listed holidays, then you will receive service the following day. The rest of the week following the holiday is also pushed back one day, with Friday’s customers being serviced on Saturday.
Holidays such as Memorial Day, Labor Day, MLK Day, Presidents Day and Veterans Day are not affected. Please set your bins out on the regular day of service.
Even though the trash service provider is changing, residents will continue to follow the same rules and regulations regarding trash disposal.
Rules and Regulations:
Please place your garbage and recycling bins out the night before, or by 6:00 a.m. on the day of service.
* RAD has a strict Bag and Tie policy; all garbage is to be bagged and tied to reduce potential spills, fly breeding and odor.
* Please place trash and recycling containers four feet apart so the truck can service them.
* Container lid must be closed to receive service.
* Recycle material is to be put into the container loosely; styrofoam and plastic bags are not allowed in the recycle container and these items are considered trash. Learn more about recycling with RAD.
Established in 2007, Right Away Disposal is a locally based and operated Waste and Recycling provider. According to their website, RAD’s “residential trucks are meticulously maintained and less damaging to residential streets.” Residents should report any trash service problems or concerns to the City of Goodyear Customer Service at 623-882-7887.
