I can’t believe it’s already October. Where did the summer go? The snowbirds will soon be returning and the PebbleCreek Line Dance Club is preparing to kick off its twenty-third season. This season is very special. Our Board of Directors approved a major upgrade to the facility sound system. What a difference the new sound system makes. No more relying on sound from boom boxes or smaller portable systems. No more dead spots or fading music. We now have a state of the art system that is spectacular. This improvement benefits not only our club and every organization that uses the facility, but also enhances the appeal of PebbleCreek to potential residents. Our heartfelt thanks to the Board of Directors, Director of Facilities Ken Sergio and especially Jerry Younker who guided us through the entire conversion. Jerry was extremely patient with us non-techie types.

This upgrade also impacted our instructor Sharon Scheffer. She has now upgraded her equipment to compliment the new system. With the help of Valhalla Sound LLC (the vendor for the PebbleCreek upgrade), Sharon now has state of the art equipment that feeds directly to the PebbleCreek system. Sharon was able to test her new equipment during her last class this past April and the sound improvement was breathtaking.

Now with all this in mind, get your dancing shoes ready to kick off our 2015/2016 season. Our Beginners Class will start on Monday, October 26 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom followed by Open Dancing from 2:00 to 2:40 p.m. On Tuesday, October 27 we will hold Open Dancing from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. also in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. All classes are free to PebbleCreek residents.

Please keep in mind our classes are very forgiving. In other words if you have two left feet it is not a problem. You will be more than welcome in the Beginners Class. Sharon is a patient teacher and will walk you through the dances step by step. You may even be surprised at how much you will enjoy it. For those seeking more of a challenge there is Open Dancing. In these classes the pace is quicker and the dances somewhat more difficult, but again Sharon will be patient as we struggle to learn. Sharon always manages to mix in an advanced dance or two to keep us on our toes. Who knows what challenge she has prepared for us this year?

If you need any information regarding these classes please feel free to call our President Beverly Bonich at 623-536-1395, our Secretary/Treasurer Shirley Jacobs at 623-536-6049 or our Instructor Sharon Scheffer at 623-536-7466. We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor this coming season.
