New Hiking Club records set

Pete Williams

For the first time in club history there were three hikers who hiked over 1,000 miles in the same season. Curiously, the only three hikers on this hike were the three who accomplished the feat – pictured (left to right) are Clare Bangs, Lynn Warren (photographer) and Pete Williams. Pete was the third to reach the milestone with only two hikes left in the season. Another record was set as Clare reached 3,000 total miles hiked on this hike, the fastest to reach this milestone. He took less than three years to do so. This hike was near Lake Pleasant and had a lot of interesting red rock. Our next Hiking Club meeting will be October 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. For more information about the club please visit our website at pchikers.org.
