Nationwide Movie Premiere Event at PebbleCreek’s Renaissance Theater!

Traci Baker, Director of Community Activities & Communications

Your Activities Office is excited to announce that we are part of Magnolia Pictures’ debut of Denny Tedesco’s Immediate Family documentary film in theaters nationwide on Dec.12! It will be showing at 10 a.m. in the Renaissance Theater on Dec. 12. It stars Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, Carole King, Neil Young, Phil Collins, Lyle Lovett, Keith Richards, and more! Watch the Immediate Family film trailer at immediatefamilyfilm.com.

Immediate Family tracks the rise and collaborations of a group of legendary session musicians Danny Kortchmar, Leland Sklar, Russ Kunkel, and Waddy Wachtel through the 1970s and onward, chronicling their illustrious partnerships and their formidable record of hit-making. Directed by Denny Tedesco, whose documentary The Wrecking Crew followed the first wave of studio musicians in the ’60s, the film reveals the machinery behind the booming era of the singer-songwriter, when the talents of these four musicians were in furious demand. The foundations of their enduring friendship, formed on the road and in studios, is recalled with dynamite clarity—reminisced with fondness through intimate interviews with the guys themselves, as well as the memories of some of rock’s most iconic voices including Carole King, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Keith Richards, Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, David Crosby, Jackson Browne, Lyle Lovett, Phil Collins, and more. Immediate Family is a backstage tour spanning multiple eras of musical history.

The film will officially premiere here in the Renaissance Theaterand in fact we hold the distinction of being the first showing on the day at 10 a.m. for the one-night-only, Dec. 12, 2023, special nationwide event.

Tickets went on sale Nov. 15 in the Activities Office for $15. HOA Member Charge (preferred) or credit card.

Runtime: 1 hour, 42 minutes. Beginning Dec. 15, the film will screen in select theaters nationwide and be available on video on demand.

A special note from your Director of Community Activities, Traci Baker:

“PebbleCreek Cinema Society Members were part of a very small group of people who saw this movie as part of the Film Festival rounds this film made. Since that showing in November 2022, the film has gone on to win the hearts—and votes—of 17 prestigious film festivals and I believe has undergone a few edits as well. The musicians who are the subject of this film are literally legends and are the people who made the music in the studio with James Taylor, Carole King, Jackson Brown, Phil Collins, and many others. They then went on tour with these artists. These players are the fabric of some of the greatest music of our generation—and it’s a thrill to learn about these largely unsung musical heroes. I hope you will join us for this very special event that we are only able to bring here with special permission from the film company due to my personal friendship with the film’s director, Denny Tedesco, forged through Cinema Society and other personal ties as well. One of the neatest things is to see ‘Goodyear, AZ’ on the film poster among the nationwide cities where this is premiering for one-night-only at AMC and Harkins kinds of theaters. It’s my passion to bring the very best entertainment to PebbleCreek. I hope to see you there on Dec. 12!  Cheers—Traci”
