Congratulations to the following, from left to right: Marilyn Gense (the Grand), Wendy Linnell (Rio Verde), Sue Olson (Trilogy), Cindy Henry (PebbleCreek), Cindy Bluml, team captain (the Grand), Karen Crook (Trilogy), Roslyn Beckwith (the Grand), Sally Orr (the Grand), Sande Nielson (PebbleCreek), and Jill Lewis(PebbleCreek). They won the 2023 United States Tennis Association (USTA) League Tennis National Championships, 65 and over, 8.0 women, held Feb. 16 through 18.
It was a tough ride to the finish. First, they won the eight–week local Phoenix League and then went on to Sectionals in December. Opponents at the Nationals in their flight came from North Carolina, Maryland, Kansas, Washington, and Delaware. Matches were very close, but they prevailed and came out victorious!
