On March 6 the Men’s Christian Fellowship is delighted to have Charlie Coleman share his personal testimony, “God to Define Your Destiny.” Charlie has been blessed with an exceptional singing voice and he has agreed to sing a couple of songs for the Fellowship. At the age of eight Charlie sang his first solo in church and he continues to be active in the music and worship ministry in his church. Charlie’s vocal artistry is well known in the Phoenix area as he has performed The National Anthem at special events such as the Phoenix Suns, Coyotes and Arizona Cardinals games; he also sang the invocation on the senate floor at the AZ State Capitol. Charlie taught for 28 years in the Peoria School District and also was active working on Behavioral Intervention Teams, helping many needy students to succeed. He also coached high school baseball for 18 years and continues to officiate at football games. After his teaching career, Charlie co-founded a non-profit counseling service where he served as a Behavioral Health Paraprofessional for eight years. Charlie has been married to his wife Loraine for 46 years and together they have two children and seven grandchildren. A licensed and ordained minister, Charlie’s life story defies the expectation of many who knew him as a child. His testimony has been an encouragement to many children with ADHD as well as other emotional and behavioral issues. As an “at risk” child himself, he is a picture of what God can do in anyone’s life!
All men residing in PebbleCreek are invited to come and hear Charlie’s inspiring message. The meeting will be at 7:30 a.m. in the Tuscany Falls Chianti Room. Coffee and pastries will be available starting at 7:00 a.m. in the Tuscany Falls Coffee Bar adjacent to the Chianti Room. Of note, Charlie will be the featured vocalist at “A Celebration of Christian Music and Tribute to Veterans” concert on May 11 in the Tuscany Falls Renaissance Theater. The event is being sponsored by the Men’s Christian Fellowship of PebbleCreek.
At the Fellowship’s February 6 meeting James Jones shared his inspiring personal testimony. Playing in the NFL for 11 years, he re-dedicated his life to the Lord in his third year of play and he began to realize everything the Lord does has purpose and order, even in challenging times we face. He encouraged Fellowship members to reach out to individuals who are facing challenges they themselves may have faced and offer them encouragement and advice on dealing with the challenge. James also encouraged Fellowship members to share with others what a life as a Christian can be, as well as being an example for other men, especially today’s younger generations.
On the morning of April 17, the Fellowship will be doing an outreach project at St. Mary’s Food Bank. There will be no Fellowship meeting on April 3.
Note: The Men’s Christian Fellowship of PebbleCreek has Prayer and Visitation Teams whose services are available to any resident in PebbleCreek. Members of the teams will pray for individuals in need (or for their family members or friends). Team members will also pay a visit to an individual’s home in PebbleCreek if desired. Information received by the teams will be kept in strict confidence. Requests can be directed to Jim Sykes at 614-395-4907 or email [email protected].
