On November 2 the Men’s Christian Fellowship of PebbleCreek heard a very informative presentation about the Center for Arizona Policy (CAP) from Josh Kredit, the Center’s General Counsel and Vice-president of Policy. CAP is a nonprofit research and education organization committed to promoting and defending the foundational values of life, marriage and family and religious freedom. Josh noted CAP reviews 1500-2000 bills each year and is very active in the Arizona legislature introducing their own bills or challenging others. CAP feels Christians can have a significant positive impact on political issues, especially concerning ethics in regards to what is right or wrong from a biblical perspective.
Josh gave two examples of current issues he is working on. The first relates to “sexual orientation and identity” laws which Phoenix and several area communities have passed. The second example concerned CAP’s effort to defeat Proposition 205 by educating the public about the myths surrounding the Proposition. The Fellowship was very enlightened regarding CAP’s efforts on behalf of Christians in the political arena.
The next Fellowship meeting will be a morning outreach project on January 4 at St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance in Surprise. All men residing in PebbleCreek are invited to participate. For information contact Jeff Fischer at [email protected] or telephone 935-2325.
