On November 4 the Men’s Christian Fellowship held its annual business meeting. Officers elected for 2016 include: Tom Chapman, president; Ron Glynn, vice-president; Jim Beyers, secretary; and Bob Stootsberry, treasurer. Following the business meeting Ed Sampson, a resident of PebbleCreek, provided a very interesting and insightful presentation on “The Reality of the Christian Walk after the Four Gospels” which was an in-depth look at the Apostle Paul’s messages for Christians. After being saved in 1968, Ed spent many years studying a variety of Christian faith resources in search of what it means to walk with the Lord in a meaningful way such as the Apostles had during the 30 AD-70 AD timeframe. In 1972 after reading a book by Watchman Nee, Ed found the type of life he wanted to lead. Subsequently, mature Christian friends shared with Ed Paul’s vision of ministry which is far more than what most Christians understand is God’s vision for us. Ed shared with the Fellowship a detailed look at Paul’s messages and his own understanding of what Paul conveyed to the early Christians. Ed provided Fellowship members a specific list of scriptures titled “The Economy of God” which focus on the heart of Paul‘s messages. For example the first chapter of Colossians reveals that Paul was completing the word of God revealing the mysteries of the ages to the Gentiles. Ed noted there is much more in the Bible for us than just being saved. He noted that God created within us a Spirit, when after being born (saved), this is where God comes to us. When Jesus ascended he came back to us as the Spirit to be within us. Ed noted what God wants in us is to express Him as we walk through life and to do this we need to be in constant fellowship (prayer) with Him in all that we do.

The next meeting of the Men’s Christian Fellowship will be in January. Rather than a formal meeting the Fellowship will be doing an outreach mission project at the Phoenix Rescue Mission. All men residing in PebbleCreek are invited to participate in the project. More information will be forthcoming in the near future on the specific details of the activity.
