Captain Jeremy A. Chandler in Afghanistan

While serving his third deployment in Afghanistan, Captain Jeremy A. Chandler, a Special Forces ODA-HALO Team Leader (Green Beret), was killed in action on August 11, 2005. A memorial scholarship was established in his honor by his parents LTC Alan Chandler, U.S. Army retired, and Jonnie Chandler, at the University of North Georgia. To date five scholarship recipients have commissioned and are currently serving in the U.S. Army.
