Reasons why residents should vote for me

I was truly honored and blessed to be nominated by the current HOA board in February to fill the term vacated by the passing of Russ Galewski. As treasurer, it was refreshing to find a well-organized and functioning team of highly motivated individuals to make PebbleCreek a better place. In my role as a board member I’ve tried to learn the interworking of our community and “walk the walk and talk the talk” (so to speak) within various areas of PebbleCreek. I’ve enjoyed serving as chair of the ALC and attending almost all the weekly meetings. I’ve attended all investment advisory group meetings and the rules committee meetings as well. This job is a commitment of 25 to 30 hours per week on average as a volunteer. Being accessible to residents and staff is taken very seriously.

As leaders in our community if we focus on open communications (oral, written, and social media), we can provide transparency and keep all residents comfortable with what is happening within our walls. And as we approach developer transition, quality leadership from dedicated individuals without a specific agenda is very important. Tough decisions must be made almost on a daily basis as we manage a community of almost 10,000 residents.

I pledge to represent all the residents of this community equally and fairly—not just the vocal minority. Investment precedes dividends. I pledge to invest the time and resources necessary to get the job done as your representative on the board. My goal is to “Have fun, make a difference, and enjoy my life in PebbleCreek.”

Reasons why residents should vote for me

Hello, my name is Karl Havlicek, and I’ve been a resident of PebbleCreek since March of 2000. I have decided to run for the board of directors to represent those of us who have been ignored over the past few years regarding the board decisions of HOA policies and non-action on PebbleCreek residents’ concerns.

So, if you want to have a member of the board who will aggressively pursue a better way of life here in PebbleCreek, then I’m your choice as your representative on the board of directors.

Here are some of the things that I have accomplished while a PebbleCreek resident for the past 19 years.

I’ve completed the Goodyear Citizen Academy in 2011, thereby learning the integral operation of the city, enabling me to accomplish goals of PebbleCreek residents.

Since 2011, I have been a member of the Citizens Advisory Board for the “Phoenix to Goodyear Airport Superfund Site.” I have been very instrumental in ensuring our drinking water wells are protected from harmful contaminants of this site while working with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). At present, there are two monitoring wells within the boundaries of PebbleCreek to monitor the northern underground plume of water. Thus far, these two monitoring wells have shown that the plume in this area to be within the safe limits of contaminants as defined by the EPA. And, I am happy to announce that the northern plume is shrinking well outside of the PebbleCreek boundaries because of the diligent cleanup effort of the responsible party of this plume.

I have also investigated and found the source of the overflow of the Bullard Wash that has caused an extreme concern to residents for various reasons, not to mention the negative effect of home values.

Another area of concern is the lack of replacement of street lights, especially those located at crosswalks such the intersection of Earll and Robson to Circle South, as well as the lack of light bulb replacement in common area pathways.

Also, at one time our streets were kept in top condition by resurfacing with asphalt rather than just a light covering of oil. Now we can see very noticeable cracks in our streets. This condition could lead one to believe that there may be cracks beneath the homes as well, instead of just a street aesthetics issue.
