John M. Shanebrook is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer and Director of Fitness, Recreation, and Wellness at PebbleCreek.
Since joining the PebbleCreek HOA leadership team on March 3, 2025, I’ve spent the past five months immersed in the people, pace, and culture of this exceptional community—working closely with the Fitness, Recreation, and Wellness staff, getting to know residents, and aligning with the HOA’s broader vision for active living.
Some of you may know me already—through our Fit Factor department newsletter, HOA website updates, or the recent department featured video produced by Frank Datzer. You may have also seen me at Town Hall meetings or in our facilities at Tuscany Falls and Eagle’s Nest. If we haven’t met yet, I look forward to connecting soon.
I’m honored to serve as your Director of Fitness, Recreation, and Wellness. This role brings together my 30+ years of leadership experience across resort clubs, five-star hotels, private fitness centers, wellness organizations, and boutique studios. I’ve dedicated my career to building high-performing operations that consistently deliver outstanding experiences and meaningful engagement.
At PebbleCreek, I lead a comprehensive, multi-site operation that includes two full-service fitness centers, multiple studios, community pools, wellness education, group exercise, personal training, massage therapy, and our Cool Down Café. I manage a team of more than 30 employees and independent contractors—all focused on delivering excellence in fitness, recreation, and wellness for our residents.
My leadership style blends strategic planning with hands-on involvement. I believe fitness, recreation, and wellness are not just amenities—they are essential elements of community life. Whether launching new programs, guiding teams, or overseeing long-range improvements, I aim to create offerings that are inclusive, energizing, and built around the needs of active adults.
In addition to my work in fitness, recreation, and wellness, I bring two decades of experience in specialty coffee operations—running cafes, developing teams, and refining service systems that prioritize warmth, consistency, and guest connection. That background continues to shape my approach to hospitality and service across all departments I lead.
My goal here is simple: to help every resident feel supported, engaged, and empowered to live actively. If you ever have questions or ideas, my door is open. You’ll find me at the Tuscany Falls Fitness Center.
