Meals of Joy Is Sponsoring a Free Breakfast

Meals of Joy (MOJ), a local nonprofit committed to providing freshly prepared meals to seniors of the West Valley, is hosting a free breakfast on Feb. 13, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom.

MOJ is currently serving Litchfield Park, Goodyear, Avondale, Buckeye, Sun City, Sun City West, Trilogy, and Peoria, Ariz. The nonprofit recently celebrated its 10th year of service to the community, and is estimated to deliver as many as 40,000 meals this fiscal year. One of the most critical aspects of the program is the personalized doortodoor deliveries of more than 70 volunteers. Personal contact is made with seniors who are often alone. Checking on well-being and health is important to the MOJ mission.

MOJ partners with local churches, health clinics, and service organizations to help expand their reach for meal deliveries. Many meals are provided to seniors at no cost, which is made possible by grants or donations.

Now is a great time to consider donations to MOJ through the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit on Government State Taxes. MOJ is a qualifying charitable organization under QCO code 22002, and your help can put meals in the hands of our seniors. Married couples filing jointly may donate up to $938 or $470 for individual filers. Contributions may be made before April 15, 2025.

The Meals of Joy goal has always been to serve the needs of our most vulnerable seniors. Seniors interested in obtaining our freshly prepared meals or volunteering with MOJ can visit our website at mealsofjoy.org or call 623-594-9588.
