Singles dining at Green Olive Bar and Grill

The monthly meeting of the PebbleCreek Singles had the honor of Mayor Joe Prizzillo giving us a short version of his annual state of the city speech, which is on Feb. 4 at 3:30 p.m. at the Refinery Christian Church. He reviewed what new facilities have opened in Goodyear this year: Trader Joe’s, High Tide, Over Easy, and Shake Shack, to name a few of the 74 new retail businesses that are now open. New businesses coming in 2026 include Buckee’s and Nordstrom Rack.

Public safety is one of the mayors main goals and with the addition of the cityowned ambulances, response time will be greatly improved. With a current population of 122,595 public safety teams have worked tirelessly to strengthen emergency services.

During the question-and-answer opportunity the first question always asked, “When are we getting a Trader Joe’s?” is now replaced with “When are we getting a Whole Foods store?” Everyone laughed and enjoyed his additional responses to their other questions.

After the meeting 19 members dined at Green Olive Bar and Grill, Mediterranean cuisine including lamb chops, salmon, chicken kabobs, pizza, and numerous salads. The group raved about the food and will definitely be back.
