PebbleCreek Billiard Club members have wrapped up their Early Summer series of 9-Ball and 8-Ball tournaments in the PC Billiard Room. Both are major 8-week tournaments played in a demanding round-robin format.
This season, Marv Schrock earned the 9-Ball Grand Championship title by winning 48 games and a total of 60 points. One point is awarded for each game won, plus a 3-point bonus for each weekly mini-tournament victory.
Notching second and third place finishes in the 9-Ball event, respectively, were Mike Finnegan (45 wins, 54 points) and Jim Padgitt (42 wins, 42 points). Other 9-Ball tourney competitors include Joe Armbruster, Bill Wise, and Clay Beeson.
As 8-Ball Grand Champion, Harold Erker collected his Early Summer tournament victory with 51 game wins and 63 total points. Runner-up was Jim Padgitt (42 wins, 48 points), with third-place honors going to Gary Weaver (38 wins, 41 points). Additional 9-Ball players include Clay Beeson, Jim Sykes, Mike Finnegan, Marv Schrock, Joe Browner, and Joe Armbruster.
For their efforts, Championship winners Marv and Harold earned discount gift cards to a popular local restaurant.
8-Ball tournament play convenes in the PebbleCreek Billiard Room on Mondays at 2 p.m. 9-Ball
