“We couldn’t give this award to Lyman last year because the pandemic shut down our annual event, and the award is probably even more deserved after all we went through,” stated Board member Jack Gregory. “But Lyman is so dedicated to helping our golf events, that he’s out at an event right now—that speaks to Lyman’s selfless commitment to our community and the game of golf,” said Jack.

Jack had hoped to present Lyman Gallup with the 2020 Volunteer of the Year award at the annual reception for committee volunteers hosted by the HOA Board this past February.

Lyman has been on the Golf Committee since 2012 and Committee Chairman since 2014. He headed up the golf course renovation task force to help with all the renovations that have occurred at PebbleCreek in the past years and has been extremely involved from start to finish. Lyman created the PebbleCreek Golf Rules committee to review and revise all local golf course rules. He is also a Rules Official with the Arizona Golf Association and officiates many state-run golf events, as well as being a rules official for our Men’s and Ladies’ Clubs when necessary.

Lyman is part of the golf fee focus group, attends meetings with club presidents, and is creating a strategic planning task force to look at the next five years of golf at PebbleCreek in an effort to plan any future renovations and consider water restrictions that may occur in the near future.

“Lyman’s overall passion for golf at PebbleCreek—and throughout the state of Arizona—has been invaluable to the success of our golf operations. The Board and our golf community are greatly indebted to him for his valuable service,” Jack concluded.
