PebbleCreek Men’s Golf Association member Howie Tiger scored his seventh hole-in-one during league play on Thursday, September 21. As a coincidence, it happened on hole No. 7 on the Lakes nine of the Tuscany Falls Course. Howie is now eligible to share the PCMGA Hole-in-One annual prize along with Dave Green and Gino Ranalli who scored holes-in-one earlier this year.
Howie is recovering from total knee replacement surgery, so his play has been less than stellar this year; however, it did not stop him from hitting a great shot. He hit a hybrid from 155 yards to a back pin placement over the water and rock wall. One of his playing partners, Larry Haiflich, watched the shot and thought it could go in, but a ridge in the green prohibited seeing it for sure. Arriving at the green, Howie checked the rough over the green and the sand trap, then checked the hole; an awesome feeling for sure.
This was Howie’s third hole-in-one at PebbleCreek. He had two others in upstate New York, one at Antelope Hills in Prescott and one at TPC Champions in Scottsdale.
Even luckier, the event was a “beer day” where beer and soda were provided to the playing participants by the PCMGA. As a result, his tab at the bar was reduced considerably!
