The PebbleCreek Line Dance Club danced to Christmas music during the classes held December 15 and 16. What started out seven years ago has become an annual tradition that is eagerly anticipated. It was then that our instructor Sharon Scheffer thought it might be fun to line dance to a couple of holiday tunes. The response was overwhelming and Sharon responded by making the entire last session before the holiday break all Christmas music for the open dancing classes. Over the years Sharon has also added one Christmas song to her Beginners class. It is not only a big hit but shows the Beginners that you can actually line dance to all kinds of music. As you can see from the pictures both the Monday and Tuesday classes were into the holiday spirit.
By the time you read this our club will have reached the halfway point in the dancing season. We have a fairly large Beginners class this season and they are moving along at a good pace. The revamped lesson plan coupled with new music has gone over very well. A large percentage of the new dancers who started in October are still with us. Late arriving snowbirds filter in through January.
The open classes have been taken up a notch. Sharon’s never ending search for new dances and music reached a new high this year. Dances such as Seduced, Wagon Wheel and Find the Beat have been added to this year’s dancing schedule with the promise of more to come. The struggles we had learning Pontoon last year are now a thing of the past. The class actually looks very good doing this difficult dance. Sharon’s push to teach us these more difficult dances has certainly kept us on our toes.
Keep in mind that a new Beginners class will be starting next October. If you ever thought you might like to learn this type of dancing you may want to mark your calendars and look for information regarding times in this newspaper in the fall. Remember, our classes are always open. If you want to stop by, have a seat and just watch us dance, you are more than welcome. You never know, you may just get the bug.
