Few Openings Remain for Great Decisions
Patricia Ingalls
Only 11 openings remain in a Great Decisions discussion group offered through LifeLong Learning. Section 1, facilitated by Jean Bowman, will meet weekly in PebbleCreek every Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. for eight weeks, beginning Jan. 5, 2027.
The Foreign Policy Association created its nationwide Great Decisions discussion program more than 20 years ago to explore U.S. foreign policy and global issues. It provides an opportunity to step back from the daily headlines and explore those issues in greater depth. Rather than simply discussing what happened, groups consider the forces behind current events, the interests of the countries involved, and the choices facing the United States.
The strength of the program is the opportunity for thoughtful discussion among neighbors with different experiences and perspectives. No special background in international affairs is required—just curiosity and a willingness to participate. A new topic is presented each week. Participants prepare by reading provided backgrounders and reviewing a video prior to each class.
The program fee is $15 per registrant, and the printed briefing book is $40. To register and see further information, go to lifelonglearning.com.
