The fourteenth of July marks the date that French citizens (and Francophiles) celebrate the French Revolution and the end of the Monarchy. In France, citizens observe the day with a military parade down the Champs Elysée and fireworks. Here in PebbleCreek members of Le cercle français celebrated by meeting at the home of Deborah and Gaylen Legan for a potluck lunch. A wide range of appetizers, salads, meats and desserts were enjoyed. There were even cakes with blueberries, coconut and raspberries in three sections to represent the French flag of blue, white and red. As we sat around tables decorated with the French colors, glasses of champagne were raised as everyone sang several stanzas of La Marseillaise.
