Le Cercle Français celebrated their annual Christmas feast, La Fête de Noel, on Tuesday, December 5. Thirty-two members and spouses gathered at the beautiful home of George and Maggie Philippon. True to the mild climate of the Goodyear area, guests were able to sit outside and enjoy a traditional French menu of boeuf Bourguignon with a potato purée and a cabbage salad served in red pepper boats. Appetizers and desserts were brought by attending members and featured a Bûche de Noel, a special Christmas cake shaped like a Yule Log and provided by Deborah Legan, the founder and president of the French club.
The group sang French Christmas songs accompanied by Rob Risden on the accordion and a gift exchange was held. For more information on the French club that meets twice each month, please email Deborah Legan at [email protected].
