Lady Niners Hold Kick-Off “Putt Now … Wine Later,” “Hometown Pride,” and Memorial League Events

On Nov. 14 the PebbleCreek Lady Nine-Hole Golf Association (PCL9GA) kicked off their season with the theme “Putt Now … Wine Later” Chardonnay Shamble format on Tuscany Falls East Course. Event Co-Chairs were Norma Guillaume and Tina Stepzinski.

On Nov. 28 Patti Engelhardt, PCL9GA Past President, and Ellen Enright, PCLGA Past President, organized a 9-hole scramble on Eagle’s Nest. Both the 9-hole and 18-hole lady golfers have shared this golf outing “Hometown Pride” for several years. Both associations enjoyed the opportunity to play together. A fun day of golf was had by all, with a picnic following golf at Sunrise Park. The first place winners in Four Flights were:

Flight 1—Bobbie Wagner, Carol Dick, Denyse Gridley, Susan Gavin

Flight 2—Tie: Glenda Spohr, Liz Wenzler, Bonnie Elliott, Karen Brown

Flight 2—Tie: Kathy Foord, Carol Apodaca, Diane Norgaard, Barb Stampke

Flight 3—Lori Dougherty, Cathy Dosch, Arlene Engelbert, Trish Watkins

Flight 4—Linda Sweet, Jane Weiderhold, Darlene Helker

The Annual Memorial Event was held on Dec. 5. This event was in remembrance of the 34 deceased members of the PCL9GA lost since the beginning of the league. Memorial placards with each deceased Lady Niner’s name were placed at each Red Tee-Box for the day’s play.

January will begin the “Tournament Season” for the PCL9GA starting with the Charity Tournament, followed by the Winter Par-Tee, the Member Guest Tournament, and the Member- Member Tournament. Busy times ahead! The Lady Niners membership continues to grow (current membership is 397 happy Lady Niners)—welcome to our new members.
