Come and learn a new craft at the Creative Arts Center. Kumihimo is an ancient form of braiding developed by the Japanese, that dates as far back as the sixth century. With Western influence, it has evolved today to include beautiful cords used for jewelry, interior décor, and other complementary art forms.
The class is taught by Carol Meier, a PebbleCreek resident who studies the art of kumihimo in Hawaii and Japan. Carol teaches the traditional art form that uses the arudai versus the hand-held foam disc.
