Knimble Kneedles is a knit and crochet charitable club in PebbleCreek that works in support of local charities. If you purchase an item made by a club member through the Expressions Gallery, be assured that 100% of the proceeds supports a charitable program.

Items available in Gallery or the club’s showcase window include baby blankets, sweaters and afghan blankets. For the kitchen, we craft kitchen towels with crochet toppers and pretty washcloths. Seasonally, we provide fun fur hats and cute stuffed animals.

Recently, the club presented a $250 check to Officer Gene Hindman of the Goodyear Police Department in support of the department’s participation in Arizona Special Olympics events. Gene happens to be the son of one of our members, Pat Hindman.

Other charitable work that we undertake includes creating thousands of adorable baby hats each year for newborns in the Banner Estrella Hospital nursery. Members also craft hundreds of colorful chemo hats annually for children of all ages being treated at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Young families at Luke Air Force Base are provided lovingly made layettes for their newest family members, including a blanket, sweater and hat. This endeavor is especially important to members whose families served in the military, regardless of branch of service.

Knimble Kneedles also supports the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank. We give cash donations annually to provide students in the west valley with school uniforms. And twice a year, we provide cash donations to the food bank.

In December, the club also furnishes a cash donation to the City of Goodyear to sponsor holiday gifts for families in need.

If you are interested in working with us, we meet every Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to noon in the Diamondback Room in the Creative Arts Center. All skill levels are welcome! Or, if you have a stash of yarn and are wondering what to do with it, we’d appreciate your donation.

Don’t forget, when shopping in the Creative Arts Center to look for the tag stating the item was hand-crafted by “Knimble Kneedles” or “KK” for short. If you do, you’ll feel even better about your purchase.
