The Breast Cancer Discussion Group is pleased to have Kitty Shildt, registered dietician, speak at our Breast Cancer Discussion Group Meeting on Thursday, Feb. 22 in the Tuscany Falls clubhouse from 10 a.m. to noon. She will be sharing with us the many up-to-date nutritional issues that impact our breast cancer journey. This is a great opportunity for us to ask questions and share nutritional concerns with each other since we all either are going through cancer or have gone through treatment. This information is so vital to our health. The purpose of our group is to provide support to residents through the sharing of common experiences and knowledge, and to let you know you are not alone. We also encourage cancer survivors to come to our meetings, as you offer such encouragement and nutrition information is also valuable to you.
One of the challenges our group faces is reaching residents before treatment. We have a wonderful pillow, made by the PebbleCreek Sewing Club, which provides comfort while recovering from surgery. We hope we can reach you before or soon after surgery!
At the conclusion of every meeting we go to lunch at the Eagle’s Nest restaurant or a restaurant close by. It’s so nice to get to know each other better over lunch. We meet on the fourth Thursday of every month.
