Batter Up! Kare Bears Sponsors Spring Ball
Tracey Schryver
The spring season is here and that means it’s time to play ball. This year, Kare Bears sponsored an 11–member softball team for the short season. The team is comprised of players with a range of abilities and ages. Women are also encouraged to join the league.
When interviewing team member Dan Zukowski, he had this to say:
“Spring ball is a short season giving the opportunity to play with and against players that you may not come in contact with in the regular season. Playing on a team provides the opportunity for camaraderie, plus a chance to improve skills and watch others do the same. It’s inspiring for me to watch an older player with skills better than my own.”
The short season runs through the middle of May. Grab your peanuts and Cracker Jacks and head over to the softball field to cheer on Dan and the other Kare Bears players!
Seeking New Board Members
Tracey Schryver
After serving on the board at the Kare Bears house for almost a year and a half, it will be time for some of the directors to step down when the new year arrives. If you’ve ever thought of taking on a leadership role, this is a wonderful opportunity for you to do so.
The Kare Bears house will be seeking a new president, vice president, director of health and wellness, a communications director, as well as a secretary.
Each board member is willing to have you shadow them for the reminder of their term as well as continue to guide you once your term begins. If you are interested in hearing more details on the roles of these positions, please contact Mai Nacht, the current president of the Kare Bears house, at [email protected].
Share Bears Fun for St. Paddy’s Day
Share Bears Bingo celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with leprechauns, shenanigans, and lots of charming green décor. The celebration continued with green cupcakes after bingo. Our only sadness is that Carolyn Johnson passed a week later. She was a regular at bingo for years and is shown here in the front row, first left. We are sorry to lose a sweet lady like Carolyn.

The Sun Bus provided free skin checks to residents.
Beep! Beep! Make Way for the Sun Bus!
Tracey Schryver
On March 29, the Sun Bus rolled into PebbleCreek and offered residents free skin checks as well as promoted sun safety and skin cancer awareness. The skin screenings were completed by Keith Haar, MD, who is a resident here in our amazing community. Thank you, Dr. Haar!
Participants raved about this service and the professionalism of the staff on board the bus. This event was met with such enthusiasm that we unfortunately had to turn walk-ins away. Kare Bears is working hard to set a new date for the Sun Bus to return to PebbleCreek in the future.
