Did you miss the last CPR-AED training? Come join us for an opportunity to gain these lifesaving skills on Friday, Jan. 16, in the Palm Room on the Eagle’s Nest side. This certification class begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m. Please visit the Kare Bears website at Karebears.org to register.
Kare Bears will also be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, Jan. 27, beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 1 p.m. The blood drive will also be located in the Palm Room. Please register at Vitalint.org.
Finally, “Kare Bears Presents” will hold their annual meeting on Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. This meeting will be followed by a presentation by Dr. Jay Levin, who will speak about cataracts as well as the latest technology leading to clear vision.
Save the date! The annual health fair will be March 21 (please note this is a date change).

Kare Bears Source Book Update
Tracey Schryver
The Kare Bears House is still seeking volunteers to help deliver the 2026 PebbleCreek Source Book. The delivery date has not yet been determined but we are anticipating a mid to late February timeframe.
If you have volunteered in the past, you should have received an email to determine if this remains something you’re willing to participate in once again. You must reply to the email to remain on the volunteer list.
Additional volunteers are still needed to help out. This is especially true for our newer units as well as replacing volunteers who may have given up their position.
If you are willing to help, please send your name, unit and lot number, email address, and telephone contact to: sourcebook@karebears.org.
While we cannot guarantee you will deliver in your own unit, we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Volunteers will pick up their lot of Source Books at 15383 W. Cheery Lynn Lane (Eagle’s Nest side). Once you receive the books, you will place the book and map into a bag before delivering to the unit assigned. Each volunteer will deliver approximately 30-40 books. Most likely the pickup day at the Kare Bears house will be on a Sunday. All Source Books are to be delivered to the community by the Friday of the pickup week. We look forward to hearing from you to participate in this volunteering opportunity! Thanks for your kindness in lending a helping hand.
